On Friday, February 29 at 2:00 p.m. the Most Reverend Kevin Vann, Bishop of the
Diocese of Fort Worth, will bless the beginnings of the new college chapel
at 3001 Lubbock Avenue. Celebratory refreshments will be available in the Refectory
(3008 Lubbock) before and after. The Visitors, Chancellor, and Fellows especially
hope that many of those whose generosity has made the new chapel possible will
be able to share in this happy occasion. The floor plans for the new chapel
are posted here.
The College of St. Thomas More is pleased to announce its summer program in Oxford,
scheduled to be held from June 2-16, 2008. Participants will have the opportunity
to immerse themselves in the study of poetry and history in the beautiful medieval
setting of one of the oldest and most famous institutions of learning in Europe,
a place in which the walls still remember St. Thomas More, John Henry Newman,
Gerard Manley Hopklins and Evelyn Waugh. The cost of the program is approximately
$2800 plus air fare. There will be excursions to London and Canterbury, as
well as the daily delights of the university city. You need not be a student
in the College to participate, but three hours of academic credit is available.
