Dr. James Patrick (B. Arch., Auburn University; B.D., S.T.M., University of the South; M.A. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Th.D., University of Trinity College, Toronto) was a founder of the College, served as Provost from 1988 to 2002, and is Fellow in Theology and Chancellor.  Dr. Patrick is author of Architecture in Tennessee, 1768-1896, The Magdalen Metaphysicals: Orthodoxy and Idealism at Oxford 1901-1945, editor with Andrew Walker of C.S. Lewis:  A Christian for All Christians, and has written for the Canadian Journal of Theology, Victorian Studies, Winterthur Portfolio, Tennessee Historical Quarterly, History and Theory, Collingwood Studies, Touchstone, Latin Mass Magazine, Sursum and Chronicles.  Dr. Patrick is a trustee of the Mindszenty Foundation of Dallas and serves on the editorial board of Collingwood Studies.   He received the Auburn University Alumni Achievement Award in the Humanities in 1986 and the Mindszenty Foundation Freedom Award in 1991.  Dr. Patrick is a Knight of Magisterial Grace of the Sovereign Military Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta. He and his wife Pringle live in Dallas.
